Julie Bloom

Abstract painter
Julie Bloom is a Bloomington based abstract painter who interprets the natural world through texture, color, and shape. She is influenced by and attempts to interpret the natural world and the ways in which earth, water, sky, and humanity create boundaries and also connect with one another. Julie paints on wood panel or cradled board with oil paint mixed with a cold wax medium which creates a deliciously creamy, textured, usually matte finish.

Charlene Marsh

Oil Painting

I am Charlene Marsh, an artist living in gorgeous Yellowwood State Forest, located in Brown County, Indiana, an historic art colony dating back to the early 1900’s.

Initially studying at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where I grew up, I finished my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Fine Art and English at Indiana University, Bloomington. My artwork has been exhibited and is in collections nationally and internationally.

When I am not creating artwork, I am hiking up and down hills in the forest, growing my own organic fruits, veggies, flowers, and wild edibles, playing with my animals, dodging coyotes, cougars, and copperheads, blogging, vlogging, traveling to cool places, watching shooting stars and fireflies in the backyard, or reading a good book curled up by the fire.
